THE LAKES VOTED TOP AUSTRALIAN HOTEL BY WORLD TRAVELLERS
The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa continues its dream run as one of the country’s top places to stay as voted by those travelling the world. In its third year, Expedia’s Insiders Select list released this week featured Vision Hotels and Resorts’ flagship property as Australia’s fourth top hotel while ranking it 80th in the world.
This latest award has delighted Vision Hotels and Resorts General Manager, Craig Biber which he says comes hot on the heels of winning a top 10 place in Trip Advisor’s best family accommodation in the South Pacific.
“With tourism encountering challenging times in light of the global recession, there is nothing better than good news to keep team spirits high. I am absolutely delighted The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa has been included as one of 21 Australian hotels joining the world’s elite.

Global online travel group Expedia.com.au says there are four times as many Australian hotels in its top 1000 favourites list this year than in previous years.
There are 21 Australian hotels in the latest list joining the world’s elite.
