NEW LEASE OF LIFE FOR POPULAR ESPLANADE DINING OUTLET & LOBBY BAR, CORAL HEDGE BRASSERIE

 

The Area General Manager of Rydges Hotels Resorts TNQ, Simon White announced today that Cairns waterfront property, Rydges Esplanade Resort would commence a refurbishment program on Monday 19 January to upgrade its signature restaurant and bar outlets to a rejuvenated, contemporary venue for guests to relax and enjoy tropical north Queensland hospitality.

 

Coral Hedge Brasserie and Lobby Bar is a popular meeting and dining spot among hotel guests and local residents.  This venue is perhaps best known for the theatre and entertainment of its Fire and Ice Buffet in the evenings and Pasta lunch.

 

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better way to start 2009 than with the good news concerning our imminent upgrade program for Coral Hedge Brasserie and Lobby Bar.”

 

For the period of refurbishment, the resort’s dining areas will be relocated to level one of the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner to create minimal disturbance while ensuring the same high quality of food and beverage service.

 

Rydges Esplanade Resort have contracted Port Douglas based company, Coral Sea Design to undertake the planned refurbishment to Coral Hedge Brasserie and Lobby Bar that is expected to take just three weeks to complete by mid February.

 

According to Mr White, Coral Sea Design is a company which specializes in all aspects of hotel refurbishment and was chosen for its appreciation of local conditions that prevail in the tropical north including suitability of textiles, textures and colour.

 

According to Mr Pete Smith of Coral Sea Design, we have chosen fabrics and laminates that are not only pleasing to the eye, but commercially viable for the application in which they are intended.

 

At the completion of refurbishment, Coral Sea Brasserie and Lobby Bar flow seamlessly from the hotel’s reception area to offer guests a completely fresh and rejuvenated venue that provides peaceful views to the gardens and resort pool.

 

Mr White said with its light airy atrium and tropical outlook, Coral Hedge Brasserie already has a great atmosphere and the impending changes are destined to enhance these qualities with a modern approach in keeping with the environment.

 

The scope of refurbishment is extensive and will include retiling of all floor areas and installation of a new bar floor, fresh paintwork throughout, installation of new audio system, new upholstery to booth seating, dining chairs and occasional chairs, new bar stools/leaners, tables, joinery through buffet area, new gas cooking appliances for theatre kitchen, new chaffing units and application of granite benchtops in buffet area.
